Some days when I wake up in the morning, I don’t want to do my yoga practice. I think it will be hard…too hard.
But if I lie down on my mat and begin to move in a way that feels good it’s easy.
‘IN A WAY THAT FEELS GOOD’ is the important part here. Not in a way that is supposed to feel good or in a way that I think might benefit me somehow or in a way that makes me a devoted student. My practice is EASY if I move in a way that truly FEELS GOOD.
If I take the limitations and goals out of the equation then my practice can be my time in the morning to simply feel good.

Right on sister! As I type this, I'm on my mat, lying over a big exercise ball, belly down...the only way I can be at my computer (which is on the floor) in a comfortable position. Due to a back injury on the weekend, my practice has been limited to very slow, meditative movements: getting on the mat, Little Boat, Knee to Chest, Child's Pose. These are the only things I can do and the only things that relieve the pain. Gone is my more vigourous practice of Sun Salutes, Moon Salutes, and even seated meditation. And yet, somehow it is right and perfect in it's own way. Thank you Laura for your wisdom and love.
